Diving into Komodo|Bali + Komodo Island-Hopping Liveaboard Adventure|6 Days 5 Nights

📍Indonesia・KOMODO, LABUAN BAJO

I believe this journey to Komodo wasn’t just a trip—it was a voyage into the heart of the ocean and nature itself.

Starting from the breezy green fields of Bali, we crossed the sapphire waters to reach the untamed wilderness of the Komodo Islands—

a place where time seems to pause, where you can swim alongside graceful manta rays and lock eyes with the last living dragons of the Earth.

This is the only place on the planet where you can encounter living “prehistoric giants” in the wild.

Listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 1991, Komodo National Park is not only home to the legendary Komodo dragons,

but also a cradle for coral reefs, vibrant fish schools, manta rays, reef sharks, and countless marine creatures.

And the best way to explore it all?

Set sail on a liveaboard, chasing the unknown across the ocean.

Climb to island peaks at sunrise, enjoy beachside dinners on uninhabited islands at sunset, and fall asleep to the rhythm of the waves at night—

a rhythm that draws us away from the chaos of daily life, and gently back toward something far more pure.

Every Day, A Step Closer to Nature

No rush to arrive, no need to conquer—

Just one step at a time, letting the moments unfold on their own.

Day 1|Arrival in Bali, waking up in a villa

After a long journey, we finally land in Bali.

The villa in Canggu welcomes us with swaying palm trees and the scent of the sea.

No plans, no pressure—just letting our pace soften, unwinding with the island breeze.

Day 2|Letting go in the slow rhythm of Canggu

The day begins with a pour-over coffee, followed by a walk into a quiet massage parlor tucked in a small alley.

By afternoon, sunlight pours over the rice fields. We settle into a cozy café and let time drift gently by.

The rhythm today is slow—and just right.

Day 3|Flying to Komodo, where everything shifts

A domestic flight takes us from Bali to Labuan Bajo, then we head straight to the harbor.

Once the boat sets off, the air turns salty, alive.

We visit the legendary Pink Beach, and by dusk, a bonfire crackles on an uninhabited island.

Under the stars, dinner feels like the opening scene of a dream.

Day 4|Climbing Padar Island at dawn, meeting ancient life at noon

Before sunrise, we hike up the misty trails of Padar Island.

From the summit, the sky slowly blushes into orange.

Later, we arrive at Komodo National Park and meet its most ancient residents—the Komodo dragons.

That afternoon belongs to the Mantas. We dive into the blue, watching them glide past with quiet majesty.

Day 5|A farewell beneath the waves

Our final dive takes place in the morning light—it’s hard to surface, hard to say goodbye.

Back on land, we settle into a hotel on a nearby island.

As the sun sets, we gather on a hill, raise our glasses, and celebrate.

It feels like a goodbye. But also, like a thank you.

Day 6|Flying back to Bali, and back to the everyday

We check out early, catching a last glimpse of the sea shimmering gold.

Each of us leaves this island behind, but something from this journey stays—

tucked into a quiet, tender corner of memory.

This Journey Is Also a Choice

In these waters, we learned the art of not intruding. Before entering the sea, we applied reef-safe sunscreen. We kept our hands to ourselves—no touching corals, no chasing fish— because protecting nature is the simplest form of respect.

The magic of Komodo isn’t in its luxury, but in its honesty.

From handmade meals aboard the boat,to salty wind on the deck at sunrise,

to those fleeting, soulful encounters with wild creatures—everything reminds us:

Travel isn’t just about checking a place off a list. It’s about feeling something real,

all over again.
